How to apply passport online:
The process for applying new passport online is very simple.
Please follow the below steps to apply passport online. I
feel this information may useful to the people who are lack of knowledge on
applying passport online.
Steps:
Open internet explorer and type the below website detail and
click enter.
As a first time user, everybody who is applying for passport
online needs to register their details with the site mentioned above and create
a User ID. (Click on “Register” link under the Online Application Filling
Section on Home Page)
Once you completed the registration process, login to
passport Seva portal with the User ID created above.
Then, Click Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of passport
link.
Please keep your id proof documents like certificates,
ration card and election ID card to enter your details.
Please enter the details very carefully, if you did any
mistake there may be a delay in processing your passport.
Once you have filled the online form, either you can upload
all of your supporting documents online or you can show these at time of in
person appointment with the Passport Officials.
Please fill the form and submit.
Then, click on “Manage Appointment” link on Application Home
Page to schedule an appointment at a passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
Then click the “Print Application Receipt” link to print the
application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN).
Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) where appointment has
been taken, along with original documents.
Only emergency/medical cases may visit PSK without
appointment. Service will be provided at the discretion of PSK
in-charge/Passport Officer.
Minor applicants below 4 years of age need to carry a
passport size photograph (with a white background) while visiting Passport Seva
Kendra (PSK). Other applicants need not carry any photograph as photograph will
be captured at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
Resubmission of application form is required, in case the
applicant does not visit the PSK within 90 days from the online form
submission.
People who are belong to Krishna, Guntur, khammam and
prakasam districts can submit their online form and book the appointment in Vijayawada
Passport Seva Kendra.
People who are belong to Chittor, Ananthapur and nellore
districts can submit their online form and book the appointment in Tirupathi
Passport Seva Kendra.
People who are belong to Nijamabad, Adilabad and karimnagar
districts can submit their online form and book the appointment in Nijamabad
Passport Seva Kendra.
People who are belong to Hyderabad, Medak, Rangareddy,
Warangal, Kurnool, Nalgonda and MahaboobNagar districts can submit their online
form and book the appointment in Hyderabad Passport Seva Kendra.
Passport Seva Kendra’s will work from Monday to Friday only.
Please use the phone number 1800-258-1800 to find out the
status of your Passport application.
Alternatively you can check the status in online aswell.
Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at Passport Seva Kendras under some of the Passport Offices.
Click here to view the list of such Passport Seva Kendras/Passport Offices where Online Payment has been made mandatory. For remaining Passport Seva Kendras/Passport Offices, Online Payment will be applicable for scheduling appointment in due course and will be notified accordingly.
Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
- Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard & Visa)
- Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks Only)
- SBI Bank Challan
Applicants applying under Tatkaal need to pay only the fee as applicable under Normal Category while making Online Payment. The balance fee as applicable for Tatkaal will be payable in "Cash" at Passport Seva Kendra/Passport Office, once Tatkaal application is accepted by Passport Officials.
To pay using Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking
| Step 1. | Click the "Schedule Appointment" link, select the appointment quota (i.e. Tatkaal Quota or Normal Quota (required only for Tatkaal ARN cases)), select the desired Passport Seva Kendra, and click the Next>> button. |
| Step 2. | Click the Pay and Book Appointment button to redirect to State Bank of India's Multi Option Payment System (MOPS). |
| Step 3. | Select the Mode of Payment (NET BANKING or CARD PAYMENTS), follow the instructions and make payment. Please do not click the Back button or refresh the page, as this may lead to failure of transaction. |
| Step 4. | Once the payment is successful, an appointment will be booked automatically for the selected Passport Seva Kendra and the "Appointment Confirmation" screen of PSP Portal will be displayed. |
| Step 5. | Take a printout of the Application (ARN) Receipt, and carry it along while visiting the Passport Seva Kendra on the given appointment date/time. |
| Step 1. | Generate and print SBI Bank Challan through the "Pay using Challan" link. |
| Step 2. | Submit the Challan along with indicated application fee at the nearest SBI Branch after at least three hours of Challan generation. |
| Step 3. | Payment will be reflected after at least two working days of depositing the fee in the SBI branch. Click the "Track Payment Status" link to track Payment Status. |
| Step 4. | If Payment Status is displayed as Success, click the "Schedule Appointment" link, to schedule an appointment. |
| Step 5. | Select the Appointment Quota (i.e. Tatkaal Quota or Normal Quota (required only for Tatkaal ARN cases)), select the desired Passport Seva Kendra, and click the Book Appointment button. An appointment (if available) will be booked automatically for the selected Passport Seva Kendra. |

Online Payment will
remain valid for one year from the first appointment date. The paid fee
will be forfeited if applicants do not submit application at PSK within
this period.
Chargeback/Refunds:-
No claim for refund, return or exchange of fee will be entertained for passport related services. In case of multiple payments for the same ARN, for Passport related services including miscellaneous services, the claims for refund will be dealt with as per extant policy governing them.

- Reschedule/Cancel an Appointment
- Once an appointment at Passport Seva Kendra is confirmed, it can be rescheduled/ canceled only twice within a year of the first appointment date.

Since Your application is in verification process, you will have to wait for its completion. Give a call to chennai police who has done your verification and followup the status with him.

To make simplify your verification process after filing your passport application, I would always suggest you to give your permanent address as your present address. When time of verification you will have to go to chennai and complete the verification process. Otherwise your application needs verification in both chennai and bangalore aswell. Since your present address is not a valid permanent address.

What is the status of your police verification. Since you are in police verification phase, it is advised to be request/manage police dept person to close your verification process as completed with out any issues. This will saves you lots of time and you will get your passport as per the schedule.

HI I stay at raigad district in Maharashtra and the pin code is 410206 for it Nhava is the location as mentioned in adhaar card but it is not taking the same for passport , rather 410209 is taking, as my brother has made the passport earlier and the pin code is 410209 and after that he has adhar card done which shows 410206, how to apply ??

The erros message "In present address, the entered PIN code does not lie in the selected district.
It is known issue with the Passport website. As they have configured wrongly in their database system for some of the pincodes in to wrong districts/locations.
The only thing you need to do is, you need to try with alternative location/district near by to your district/location and check in which district/location your pincode is displaying/appearing.
Then you are good to select that district/location and complete your online application.

After booking when i checked my submitted form i have observed that at column EDUCATION QUALIFICATION it was GRADUATE AND ABOVE and for ELIGIBILITY OF NON-ECR it was given NO....The another problem is at VALIDITY of passport it is given N/A.....These are my huge doubts regarding passport and i am totally confused and don't know what to do.....please help me for these 2 details sir.

The simple solution to your problem is cancel the existing appointment slot with PSK and refill new application form and take a new appointment slot with PSK, if you have enough time in hand otherwise you can always request the PSK Officials to change the details for you, But it is depends on PSK official as they might be busy with lots of applications and not willing to help you at that times.
And for the passport validity, you need to select the type of passport (Tatkal/Regular 36 pages with 10 years or depends) when you are filing the application.
And yes, you need to choose the above option 10TH AND ABOVE and you need to manually select ECNR as YES when filling the application. In your case you have given ECNR as NO.
And you can always make the payment at PSK, so dont worry about making the payments online or through bank challans!
But Make sure of having all required docs at the time of docs submission process with PSK.
I beleive you are doing your ENGG in vja or daily commute to college from your home if nearby.
If you are away from your hometown for doing your ENGG, you always say that you are daily commute to your college from your home at the time of police verification. And as usual you have to go through this clearance process with police dept.

Shajahan, I am not clear about your query. You have mentioned that you have got passport in 4 days, then why to worry about verification process now.
Dont give chance to police dept to reject ur address verification. It they did reject it is very difficult to get the passport. So request them and manage the to clear the verification.

Hi, You did mentioned that you have been to PSK twice for docs submission. Still they have rejected your docs means that you have not met their requirements to process your application under tatkal.
Did you filed annexure F and Annexure I forms. Annexure F is the document which you need to prepare it by govt official with their office seal/stamp and one of the most important form for verification.
You need to download them from the passport website and then need to fill it by the most reputed govt officials inorder to process your application under tatkal.
So, get the proper valid verification done by govt officail and then go to VJA PSK and ask them for process the application in tatkal quota.Hope this will helps you!!
Bhagat Singh, Since your native place is west godavari, you can apply for passport from vja psk. you no need to go to hyderabad for applying the same.

Hi, Once the Annexure F is ready then you can go to VJA PSK and check with them. And inform I am having all the required docs now and it needs to be filled through tatkal quota only.
As I mentioned, download the form from the passport website and get it done by the govt official.

Bhagat Singh, Yes you can apply the passport from hyd psk aswell. But you will have to get through the police verification from your native place and your current place.
This process will having difficulties and more time consumes. we will not be knowing whats happening with your passport application verification status.
So, I would suggest you get some time and apply it from VJA/HYD but fill the form only about your permanant address. Do not mention about the current address.
And when time of verification you will have to go your native place and manage the police guy to clear your verification.

Sravani, I will always suggest people to fill application with only one address i.e your present and permanat address as same to avoid any multiple time verifications.
Yes, for tatkal you need to have annexere F document filled by higher govt officials. if you have that with you then you can apply for passport in tatkal.
You no need to worry about the existing application and you can recreate a new application and fill the details as you like and you can change the psk aswell. its up to you where do you want to go for applying the passport.
If you had paid the fee already then you can use that receipt for this new application. otherwise you can always pay the amount at PSK office.

Hi Pramod, You can ignore the applications which you have already filled and submitted. You can submit another one and also do not forget to fill to with correct details. And you can either make the payment online or at psk. But I would suggest you to make the payment at PSK directly to avoid any issues.

Hi Meenakshi, No the change from profile will not work. PSK ppl will ask you to modify the application and submit as new. But You can request PSK ppl to modify this change at the time of your documents submission.

Hello Siva, If you could have read my previous posts, you would have understand the answer for your doubt! anyways, I would always suggest to avoid the multiple place verification. So it would be better to provide both your present and permanent address as same. And also when time of verification, you would need to manage the police dept to verified as positive.

Hi, If your birthday was before 1989 you can show your 10th certificate as your birth certificate. If it was issued after 1989, you would need to reapply for the birthcertificate with the full surname in it. If you can go to any E-SEVA,they will help you the process of reapplying the birthcertificate. Once you get the updated birth certificate you can apply for the passport.

Rajesh, Not required to fill the college address and you should inform to the police that I was traveling from home to college as daily commute. And however, you should manage/request him to complete the verification process without any issues.

Raveena, You might be selected the wrong district name when filling the application.
The pincodes does exist based on the actual information that was available with the PSK. Hence, try selecting near by districts and check for the pincode you are looking for . You should definitely get the pincode if you do the search selecting the near by/alternate districts.

Ashish, Please request the PSK officer when submitting the docs and ask them to modify the DOB as per the docs. In general they have to do this corrections on behalf of ourself once the application was submitted. But due to the high volumes of application they might have changed the process. Please check with them.

The pincodes does exist based on the actual information that was available with the PSK. Hence, try selecting near by districts and check for the pincode you are looking for . You should definitely get the pincode if you do the search selecting the near by/alternate districts.

1. I want to apply for fresh passport at Tirupati. While registering at passport official web page Tirupati is not coming only Hyderabad and Vizag is coming but in the same web site they have given Tirupati in a passport office and Laghu Kendra list, wanted to apply at Tirupati only because of my travelling comfort. Now if I want to apply for passport I have to go Hyderabad or Vijaz. Please suggest me sir what to do?
2. Some peoples suggested me that don’t put higher education and don’t tell your working because the verification process will be more and it may cause some delay in passport issue. Please help me from this sir………
Sreekanth, As part of registration process you would need to select Hyderabad as your PSK and when taking appointment you will get the options to select the nearest PSK for your convenience in this case Tirupathi.
Now, Yes the verification will takes place whereever you put/fill the detials in your passport application. If your higher digree was not based at your hometown then the verification will take place at where you did completed the studies. And you can mention your higher degree details and mention ECNR when filing the passport applicaiton and also you can tell the verification person/police as you did dialy commute to the college from your home town to avoid multiple place verifications.
And also please be sure to put only permanent address as your present address aswell to avoid verification at bangalore.
And finally, you have to manage/request the verification person/police to clear your verification process as positive and it was known to everyone in our state.

Hello Janardhan, This was very known issue with PSK. You may need to try with selecting district as vijayawada instead Krishna district. Or please try changing the nearest districts from the online filing form to find your pincode.
for people from Chennai getting the error message 'the entered PIN code does not lie in the selected district', try changing the district to Chennai Sub Urban or City and then submit

In my voter id- 20, sanjeev nagar neori n adress i filled in application is 20, s nagar new jail road. None of the above is wrong but thy are diffrnt. My First passport is expired. Hence applied for "Re-Issue" through online portal. I have completed the payment process too. Later in the application receipt, I saw the present address(in bangalore) says 2nd cross whereas my Gas bill connection points to 3rd cross. So when I go to PSK on 31st Oct, there will be a mismatch in present address. I was trying to apply for passport re-isse for my mom. I am from California and my mom lives in tirupati. I have successfully filled in the information and submitted it. But I submitted the application twice. (its same information both times, no different). I have noten down ARN (Application Reference Number) the second time.
Would that be a problem?
Also, I realized I can't use US credit card for the fee payment and mom doesn't have a credit card. So I had to stop it there. What can I do next? Can I ask my mom to contact a broker locally and ask him/her to pay the fee and take an appointment.

Hi, Yes you could submit as many applications you want using single user id. And the retention policy for successful passport applications was 90 days means.
Deekshita, It is always better to apply passport application using your permanent address. This is to avoid multiple security checks if you have any secondary addresses. So, If you have your election/voterid with your permanent address use it or change the address in aadhaar card and apply for passport.
Hi All,FYI No you cant book a slot from bangalore. And if you mentioned that you are currently living in bangalore police verification will takes in place at bangalore aswell, that may delays your passport application processing request. So, I would suggest everyone that to keep only one address i.e. your permanent and also if you did your education otherthan your hometown, do mention that I was daily commute to college from home to make it simpler verification process. But anyways you need to manage police person to make it simpler.

Gowtami, Yes you can. you can make your mumbai address as your permanent and present address to avoid multiple address verification's.
vykunta, Yes you can apply passport from hyd. But the process would take longer than expected. They will have to do the verification at your home address followed by hyd address.
To avoid these many verifications, i was suggesting everyone to put one single address i.e. your permanent address and present address as same. And also when verification/police team comesup manage them.

I was making an online payment through debit card .And while redirecting to payment page suddenly the page was blank.Amount was not deducted from my account and since then I'm trying to re initiate the payment .Status is showing as "Pending" in track the payment status since a long time.What could be the issue. sir, i know im so late here . but please i need ur help, i submitted two online applications of the same person in the same account but still haven't paid or scheduled an appointment foR either .. but there is a correction in both of the forms so can i cancel the applications or . can should i create a new account and submit the application again this time without making any mistakes.
Ayesha, Yes. You can submit another new application and make sure of ARN number with your new application when scheduling PSK appointment. You can make payments at the PSK office if you can't make it online.

Am also facing the same issue like below error, Am from kadapa district and changing address also exists in same district.
"You have registered under RPO Hyderabad but your present residential address lies within the jurisdiction of RPO Vijayawada. The registration and present residential address should be with the same RPO"
Here am trying to change the address and and trying to add my name in my wife's passport, i think due to state division (AndhraPradesh and Telangana) am facing this issue, both address are in same state and in same district, still am facing this issue because they changed as below,
"Nearly eight months after bifurcation of the state, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) has decided to redraw the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad, and move eight districts of Andhra Pradesh - Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam - to the Visakhapatnam passport office jurisdiction".
